About QR Codes

QR stands for Quick Response. The code was invented in 1994 in Japan to keep track of car parts in factories.

A QR code can still be read even if part of it is missing, because the information is stored more than once. That is why it is fine to have the star in the middle.

The codes are created here in the browser. What you type is not sent to any server.
